In a bizarre incident, an intruder tried to invade the room of Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Oct. 26, Monday, where Lamar Odom is currently receiving the treatment after his life-threatening collapse at a Nevada brothel, allegedly due to drug overdose.
The incident happened during the late hours when a man, who was later identified as Odom's former assistant and one of the biggest facilitators of his illicit drug use, arrived at the hospital. The man seemed to have some history with Odom and was also fired recently by the management after Odom was found unresponsive in the Nevada brothel after four days of partying spree, TMZ reported.
The intruder was stopped by security when he declared that Odom was insisting to meet him and has called him. When the security denied him access to the ailing Basketball player's room, he started yelling and created quite a chaos at the hospital.
Later the intruder was escorted out. Odom's wife Khloe Kardashian, who is otherwise constantly present at his bedside since his collapse, was not present at the hospital at the time.
Odom has been provided with high security owing to his celebrity status and high level of media interest in his condition. He has been put up in in a section of the facility reserved for celebrity patients that has a round-the-clock security detail, a source told USA Today.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old is making baby steps towards recovery. However, he is still on dialysis and is also reportedly suffering from depression. He is still unable to speak properly and is writing down for communicating.
