Game designer Robert Cogburn includes microtransactions within the multiplayer option of the video game "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."
Upgrades, more weapons and additional tools in the games will be made available to players for purchase using real money. However, the studio did not completely make every item purchasable through real currency, but also through in-game currency such as points and rewards, as reported by Stevivor.
While the video game was privately previewed by a group of invited journalists, Cogburn was asked if whether microtransactions would be fully adopted into the game. Cogburn clarifies by remarking that,"Microtransactions will be available at launch, but we'll have no gameplay items that will be gated through microtransactions," as reported by Gamespot.
The multiplayer version of "Uncharted 4" takes a look away from the realism of the action-movie campaign by allowing players to unlock extraordinary abilities and superpowers with magical totems and artifacts. Sidekicks such as snipers, medics and other forms of players may be summoned as well.
With the multiplayer beta of the video game, players can select, purchase and upgrade their artillery both through real and in-game currency.
In addition, the game designer Cogburn confirms that the multiplayer mode will run 60 frames-per-second at 900 p. The studio has the belief this feature provides the best experience of the game, especially while there are two or more players.
In contrast, the single player or campaign mode of "Uncharted 4" will have a display at 1080 p30.
Despite the production of another "Uncharted" video game, Cogburn recognized the possibility that the game would be the final installment in the series.
In addition to the designer's sentiment, the creative director of the game series Neil Druckmann, also expressed that the studio would give the protagonist of the series closure in his journey.
The release date of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be on Mar. 18, 2016 with the video game exclusively available for PlayStation 4. However, the multiplayer beta will only be available from Dec. 4 to 14 of this year.
