As part of the monthly Games with Gold program, Xbox Live Gold member will receive four new free games for the month of November. Two games each will be released on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.
According to Major Nelson, all future Games for Gold titles released for the Xbox 360 console will be playable on the newer Xbox One console. The upcoming release of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature will also allow players to play multiplayer games even if they are using the Xbox 360 console.
For the Xbox One console, Xbox Live Gold members will get "Pneuma: Breath of Life" free for the month of November. The game usually costs $19.99. The second game, "Knight Squad," can be downloaded for free starting Nov. 16 until Dec. 15. The game has a regular price of $14.99.
Starting Nov. 1, Xbox 360 owner who are Xbox Live Gold members can download "DiRT 3" for free until Nov. 15. The game usually costs $24.99. Starting Nov. 16, they can download "Dungeon Siege III" until Nov. 30. The game normally costs $19.99.
Free Xbox games may be different in some regions and choices may depend on market availability.
The Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility will arrive on Nov. 12. The update will also include a new user interface for the console. According to Polygon, Microsoft is planning to release more than 100 Xbox 360 titles once the feature goes live. Some well-known and critically-acclaimed title that made it to the list are, "Mass Effect," "Gears of War," "Borderlands," "Perfect Dark," "Perfect Dark Zero," and "Geometry Wars Evolved."
