The number of Hollywood celebrities opposing photoshopping seems to increase by the year as Kate Winslet, Chrissy Teigen, and more recently Emma Roberts became advocates of untouched images.
Winslet has long been vocal about insisting that her original images will be printed. She took her anti-photoshopping stance further by incorporating a clause in her L'Oreal contract stating that there will be no additional retouches or editing on her images.
The "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" actress expressed hope that other people, especially young women, will get the takeaway message and be proud of their real physical characteristics, E! News reported. Winslet conveyed how she wanted to be a body-positive role model.
Recently, Roberts generated around 218,000 likes when she wrote on Instagram that her Aerie campaign snaps were not retouched and had no filter. Being real, she expressed, is sexy and cool.
Teigen, for her part, came to realize in summer that she did not want to use Photoshopping apps anymore, as she wanted to project her real self.
The "FabLife" co-host said the thought hit her when she saw stretch marks on her legs while checking her minor bruises. She then posted a close-up photograph of her stretch marks on Instagram.
Interestingly, even a gorgeous and famous Hollywood male actor like Brad Pitt once refused retouching of his photograph for a magazine issue spread. The "World War Z" actor felt it was "inauthentic," StyleCaster reported.
Winslet, Roberts, Teigen and Pitt are only some of the Hollywood celebrities who won applause from audiences for speaking publicly against the practice of flaunting unrealistic body images.
