Android has introduced a new feature for the Google Play Games app that allows mobile users to record and share gameplay with other gamers and fans. This allows players of titles ranging from puzzle games to role playing games (RPGs) to capture, edit, and publish video clips on YouTube after cheat-free grinding on their smartphones and tablets for many hours.
In recent years more and more gamers have switched from PC games to mobile games. This is in line with the general move from desktops and laptops, to mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
In order to record gameplay, users of the Play Games app must first select the game they want to play. The next step is to tap the record button.
Gamers can capture their gameplay in either 720 pixels or 480 pixels, according to Tech Times. They can also add a video and commentary by using the mobile device's front-facing camera and mic.
The Android Team wants gamers to upload content for any Android mobile game, including Minecraft and Clash of Clans titles. They also have the chance to be the next gaming luminaries like YouTube stars TobyGames and VanossGaming.
In a blog post on October 28, Wednesday, Google referred to gaming broadcasts as a "growing phenomenon," according to PC Mag. Every month 2.4 billion hours of gaming video content is uploaded or streamed through Google's YouTube video sharing service.
The new Google Play Games app feature will first roll out in the United States and United Kingdom in the next few days. A worldwide launch will follow.
