Microsoft just upgraded Skype by adding video messaging filters and allowing users to hide or delete recent conversations.
The Skype team says the changes are part of the company's attempt to add more fun to Skype users on iPhone, iPad and Android devices by allowing them to customize their messages, which are sent as short video clips, as they please, reports Bidness Etc.
The video clips could be sent similar to Snapchat, but the one who receives the message could open and see the messages anytime he wants to. He is not even required to be online to view the clips.
To activate this new feature, search at the bottom left of the Skype video message screen for the filter button that allows the user to select a filter and see a preview of how the message would look like. Then press the record button and use filters such as balloons, face-changing options, Halloween-themed characters and costumes, and negative filters to look ghastly. The filter also allows use to make the face longer or rounder or even more distorted, reports Android Community.
Owners of Apple devices would use their 3D touch to use these changes on Skype. To preview a Skype video, press the content from within a conversation or use Force Touch Peek. If the gadget user presses the content harder, it would bring the video to the fore. Swipe to reveal other actions.
By pressing or using the Force Touch on an icon, it would immediately bring up the most frequently used options. Including search, the Skype dial pad or option to begin a conversation or call. They could also Peek at live video or the newest message with Force Touch or a Recent conversation. Swiping up unveils more options.
