Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. recently launched a new mid-range smartphone, the Honor 5X, as a successor to last year's Honor 4X device. The Huawei Honor 5X comes with additional features and improved memory and performance over its predecessor.
In terms of the design and features, the Huawei Honor 5X comes with a metal body and a fingerprint sensor that enables users to access the handset in 0.4 seconds, GSM Arena reported. It sports a 5.5-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.
The Huawei Honor 5X has a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel shooter on the front. Inside, the phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, up to 16GB of expandable built-in memory storage, and a large 3,000 mAh battery. It runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system (OS) along with the Emotion 3.1 UI on top, according to Phone Arena.
Also, the battery supports the Quick Charge 3.0 feature that will enable would-be owners to charge the phone up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Other specs include support for 4G LTE connectivity. The phone will be available in 2GB RAM at $160 and 3GB RAM with a price tag of $220.
In comparison with its predecessor, the Honor 4X sports the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD display screen with a lower 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. This phone packs the same 3,000 mAh battery inside, along with Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 620 processor and only 2GB of RAM.
