Chinese phone maker OnePlus has once again launched a new smartphone called the OnePlus X. This handset is the third smartphone from the company in its aim to become one of top handsets maker in the world.
Unlike other handsets such as the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2, the OnePlus X is all about being fashionable with its sleek-looking design. That doesn't mean it is going to cost $800, in fact, it will only go for a cool $249 unlocked at retail when it launches in the United States on November 19 of this year.
Just like every other OnePlus device launch, there will be an invite system set in place for the new OnePlus X. However, with the holiday slowly approaching, the company aims to allow consumers to purchase the handset from its website beginning in December of this year, just in time for Christmas.
The specifications:
In terms of design, the OnePlus X looks great for a $249 smartphone. It goes to show that one doesn't have to pay premium to get something that looks great in the hand. As for the internals, well, just think of what's inside as last year's hardware.
OnePlus deliver a 5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, according to the OnePlus X official website. There's also a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor at the heart of this device along with 3GB of RAM and a 2525 mAh battery.
On the matter of the cameras, the OnePlus X features a 13-megapixel shooter at the back and an 8-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfies and video calls. The rear camera can record 1080p videos and 720p videos at 120 frames per second.
As for internal storage, the OnePlus X is packing 16GB worth, and can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.
Overall, this is just another great effort from OnePlus, and another sign that Chinese smartphone makers are pushing full speed ahead to dominate.
