Tremendous image of the Milky Way galaxy has been recently compiled by a team of astronomers at the German University. The image is said to be magnificent because of the fact that it contains more than 46 billion pixels and the images is the result of data gathered by team of astronomers for a period of about five years.
The data was compiled based on 268 individual views of Milkyway, Extreme Tech reported. Users who wish to view the image will need an online tool to view image in detailed manner. Five years of hard work lead to the composition of the image. Professor Rolf Chini from German University was assigned the task of assembling the 296 captured images. The result of this compilation was the breath taking and comprehensive image of the galaxy.
Even after the compilation, the team took yet another seven week time to get the image into a perfect shape, while the final image sizes up to 194GB. The online tool will help interested persons to view the complete image at a glance and can even let viewers to see specific parts of the galaxy by zooming in.
The specific sections can be viewed in detail with the help of this online tool. The research team members have also provided an option to search for specific information present in the Milkyway, using the searchable option. The compiled image, which is a result of observing galaxy, presents more than 50,000 brightness stars that is present in the Milkyway, which might otherwise been not recorded ever in the history of space science.
