Square Enix has released new concept art for "Final Fantasy XV" shortly after releasing the art and the insight behind Catoblepas. The first is an evil-looking gobin complete red eyes and other villainous facial features.
The Goblin is an enemy in "Final Fantasy XV," specifically one that can be found in the caves in Episode Duscae, Siliconera reported. It appears that the Goblins have been part of the "Final Fantasy" franchise even before this latest run. The art team had revealed that the basis for the concept art of the Goblin came from the art for "Final Fantasy 2," made more realistic.
The developer also revealed another concept art, this time for the Mesmerize. At a glance, the Mesmerize looks like an armor-bearing horse. By the stretch of the imagination, the horn protruding on its forehead even gives off the air of a unicorn. However, "Final Fantasy XV" Art Director Tomohiro Hasegawa shared that the Mesmerize's name fits well, since it appears to be a mythical creature that mesmerizes onlookers.
Beyond the new concept art, "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata shared some new information to fans about the game's setting, DualShockers reported. According to Tabata, some things in the game help in furthering the development of the game. "Final Fantasy XV" is said to be the kind of game that makes use of elements in the game that help establish the setting.
"The FF series comprise so many elements and it is among the most difficult games to explain in a few words," said Tabata as quoted by the publication. "For FF15, we consider it very important to have a clear theme that you can explain in a few plain words."
Tabata himself states the overall theme for "Final Fantasy XV," which is the quest to regain a kingdom that had been previously lost. Part of this is the use of the characters' black clothing, as previously teased, wherein the real meaning and power behind black-colored clothing will be revealed.
"Final Fantasy XV" has yet to get a confirmed release date. It will come on the Xbox One and PS4.
