Several Twitter users showed skepticism upon seeing the list that was based on the book "What the Most Successful People Do Before breakfast" written by Laura Vanderkam.
Twitter followers expressed doubt that even established or successful individuals will be able to cram all the cited routine tasks in the early morning before breakfast time.
Vanderkam cited that there are reasons why people adhere to early-morning routines. Successful individuals want to continually certain things, and many of them find early mornings the best time to have the upper hand on their schedules.
Examples of successful executives who follow rule number one, which is waking up early, are PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and other chief executive officers of big companies.
Actress and wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow as well as media mogul Arianna Huffington epitomize how ingesting the right stuff can be a good start for the day. Paltrow drinks warm water with some lemon.
Huffington begins her day with a drink consisting of hot water and lemon; a 20- to 30-minute breathing meditation, followed by a 30-minute workout on her stationary bike; and e-mail check using her iPhone, Harpers Bazaar reported.
The common sentiment in the Twittersphere was that successful executives may not be able to do all the things listed.
Apart from waking up early, drinking water and exercising, the pre-breakfast routines cited include working on top-priority business project, attending to a personal-passion activity , spending quality time with family, connecting with their spouses, networking over coffee, meditating, planning and strategizing.
While successful people may not really get to do each item on the list, each of the cited routine tasks can be "an effective way" to kickstart the day, Business Insider reported.
One netizen tweeted that successful individuals who follow the list stand to "die early of a massive heart attack due to lack of rest." While several other Twitter users poked fun at the post, a handful ended up pondering on the things they would like to include in their pre-breakfast routine.
