New "The Flash" season 2 details will feature Earth 2 Henry Allen's appearance and a new theory regarding Zoom's true identity in the show.
Episode 6 of "The Flash" season 2, titled "Enter Zoom" will feature the first encounter between Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) and the show's "big bad", Zoom (Tony Todd) as several on set photos and trailer have been revealed online. Barry and team Flash will set up a trap for Zoom to stop him and in order to do that they will need Linda Park's (Malese Jow) help as the latter will disguise herself as Doctor Light since the Earth 2 version looks like her.
It is speculated that Zoom sent Doctor Light to have Barry caught off guard and kill him hinting that he knew Linda was his ex-girlfriend and will likely sent out more Earth 2 doppelgangers of one Barry's close friends in order to kill him. Team Flash decided to confront Zoom as soon as possible and having Linda in the plan might work, much to Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and Jay Garrick's (Teddy Sears) disapproval thinking that it is too dangerous and Jay told Barry that he is not yet prepared to face Zoom yet.
A new theory speculated that Zoom's true identity could be someone that is close Barry and it is hinted that the villain could be Earth 2's version of Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp), Moviepilot reported.
Audiences last saw Henry Allen got out of his prison and reuniting with his son, Barry and his friends after Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh and Matt Letscher) confessed to the killing of Barry's mother, Nora in the season 2 premiere. Henry told Barry that he needed to leave Central City much to Barry and the audiences surprise and stated that he does not need him anymore thinking that he has grown up to be a good person already and has his friends with him.
Gustin stated in an interview that he is still grasping at the fact that Henry will leave Barry again after what his son went through to get him out of prison, but understands that need to do so and hints Henry Allen will return to the show soon, Cinemablend reported.
Several charactes have already been hinted to be Zoom's true identity in the show such as Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett), Edward Clariss/The Rival, Future Barry Allen, Earth 2 Wally West etc. Earth 2 Harrison Wells was responsible for the Metahumans in Earth 2 and the creation of Zoom. The theory suggest that Earth 2 Henry Allen could be the villain since Zoom due having some sort of grudge against Wells and had his daughter kidnap out of revenge for his condition.
Some fans even compared that photos of Shipp's costume as the Flash to Zoom's costume in season 2 trying to examine that they are similar in both facial and head shape, just to support the theory.
The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8pm ET on The CW Network.
