Recently, Google released an official statement affirming its monthly report on the share of each Android version. According to Google, Marshmallow, the sixth and most recent operating system released by the tech giant, has been gaining considerable interest from users.
Although it was released very recently, the report showed off usage rate of .3 percent. Considering the factor that Marshmallow is now available only in Nexus devices, the figure seems to be promising enough. Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 and Nexus 9, along with Nexus Player, received Marshmallow operating system.
Compared to earlier version - Android Lollipop - that was launched during November last year, the growth of Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been immense and thrice than that was achieved by Lollipop post its release. It took almost three months for Lollipop to reflect in their monthly sheet.
Although there is no evidence that clarifies how many Nexus devices has been updated, the 0.3 percent achieved so far is a promising sign. Google is also continuously working to promote security patches and updates. This is an ideal factor that indicates Google's commitment towards users and their efforts to ensure that their entire group of Android community receive updates and patches on a regular basis.
It needs to be waited to check out how Android lets its users to access Marshmallow firmware. It is possible to have better analysis once the firmware and updates are made allowed to all users of Android.
Given the circumstances, it is yet an interesting factor that Android has not been able to cope with the success rate of iOS 9.1 as Apple has gained an instant share of more than 63.03 percent.
