South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics is preparing to unveil and launch its latest flip smartphone, the Galaxy Golden 3, after the device recently passed through the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (TENAA) in China.
The Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 flip phone, which is the successor to the original Samsung Galaxy Golden device released in 2013 in the South Korean market, was previously leaked on the GFXBench website in September with the model number SM-W2016.
Specs-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 sports two 3.9-inch display screens (external and internal) with 768 x 1280 pixel resolutions. It's worth noting that the phone was rumored to sport 4.6-inch screens, according to the GFXBench listing.
The Galaxy Golden 3 weighs about 204 grams and measures 15.1mm in thickness, according to Phone Arena. The handset is accompanied by a powerful 16 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter.
It comes with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version operating system pre-installed and packs an octa-core 2.1GHz processor processor, GSM Arena reported. In addition, the Galaxy Golden 3 has 3GB of RAM and up to 64GB of non-expandable built-in memory storage.
As of this time, there's still no word on when the new Samsung flip phone will make its way out into the market, and how much it will cost.
In comparison with its predecessor, the original handset weighs about 170 grams and measures 15.8mm in thickness. The Samsung Galaxy Golden sports a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED internal and external display screens, both with a 480 x 800pixel resolution.
The handset came with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.9 megapixel camera on the front. Inside, it packs Qualcomm MSM8930AB Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal memory and an 1820 mAh battery.
