The "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer is probably the most scrutinized video in all of YouTube.
That's exactly how Zack Snyder intended it to be. However, movie fans are now more picky and careful to jump into conclusions after the broken shield in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" turned out to be just a "dark vision/nightmare" sequence that did not actually happen. This is the same line of thought that sought to explain the "desert sequence" in the BvS trailer.
A new theory from Movie Pilot now seeks to disprove that, and also, to corroborate the rumor that Doomsday will not be in the film. Batman-News reported weeks ago that a Redditor who claims to be a 3-D artist who worked on "Batman V Superman" claimed that Doomsday is NOT in the film.
The claim led to assumption on who the villain might be, and one of them is Bizarro.
In the desert sequence, there are black-clad soldiers with the Superman emblem. They also bowed down to Superman-seemingly perpetuating the "god" impression that was pervading among the people and causing the government to be suspicious.
The theory brought forth by Eleanor Tremeer in Movie Pilot stated that the "Superman" in those scenes may actually be Bizarro. The shot was hidden in shadow so it was hard to identify.
Bizarro, as the theory surmised, was genetically created by Lex Luthor. It does explain how Superman would have his own army and want to be treated as a god-which is so unlike Kal-El/Clark Kent who's supposed to be "mild-mannered."
Luthor, who was very threatened by the presence of Superman, wanted to fuel the public hatred on the heroes (snippets of which were seen in the trailer). Having an "evil Superman" would do the trick.
The theory is interesting, and there are already expanded versions that the fight between Batman and Superman was actually Batman vs. Bizarro-but that's probably a stretch.
But the idea of using Bizarro as an impostor for Superman is not a new concept (it has been used in the comics) and could well work with what plot rumors and spoilers have been revealed so far.
What do you think of this theory?
