The Nintendo NX release date could happen as early as July 2016 with new features designed to upend its chief rivals, the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4, such as integrated social media functions and popular game titles to be bundled on launch, new report said. Games likely to debut with the hybrid gaming machine are The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Maker.
In what could prove as one of the Nintendo NX killer features, the device is said to boast of integrated social media functions that will make the device a platform for showing off and sharing game achievements. This likely feature is discussed in patent filing that according to Christian Today was first discovered by Nintendo Enthusiast.
The system that likely will take the name Nintendo Achievement Sharing will "allow players to leave notes that other players can read, allowing them to learn how certain achievements are unlocked in a particular game," the report said.
The NX sharing features will also permit the recording of clips "to visually showcase how the achievement was acquired," which can then be posted for the NX online gamers to see.
The planned implementation, Christian Today said, appears to be quite similar to the Miiverse network. But the report added that as the technology is still in the patent phase, the likelihood of the system to unbox with the Nintendo NX is not very high.
But what could be as a more solid NX add-on are exciting game titles that will be bundled with the rumored gaming device. Earlier, The Legend of Zelda has been suggested following indications from Nintendo that a new game title on the hugely popular series is likely to debut with the NX.
Pokémon and other familiar titles are being floated around but a sure-fire earthshaking title to be preloaded with the NX machine would be Super Mario Maker, Wii U Daily said in a report. "Using Super Mario Maker as a launch title would be a good enticement for the abilities of the console, with an entire year of user-created levels for new players to venture through," the report added.
With premium game titles lined up for its release, the Nintendo NX has a good chance of easily eclipsing the not-so-good performance of its immediate predecessor - the Wii U, the report said.
Nintendo has already hinted that the Nintendo NX is not designed to replace any of the 3DS and Wii U but the Japanese game maker allowed that early concept of the device will surely give both the Xbox One and PS4 a good fight.
On its release date, rumored to be as early as July 2016, the Nintendo NX is said to unbox as a hybrid gaming device that functions two ways - as handheld like the 3DS due to its remote controller with possible stand-alone features and as a console, which would be the NX main component.
