Disney has plunged the first trailer of Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane's upcoming animated film "Finding Dory."
The first "Finding Dory" trailer ran for a minute and 42 seconds. It opened with a scene at the bottom of the sea with Dory saying that she was remembering something important, her family, and she had to find them somewhere. Similar to its predecessor, the trailer showcase a vast spectrum of colorful characters and dynamics, which are assumed to amuse its audience when it hits theaters.
"Finding Dory" is set six months following the events in "Finding Nemo." It centers on the amnesiac Dory as she recalls the memories of her childhood and goes along with Nemo and Marlin to be united once again with her family.
In his previous interview with Coming Soon, Pixar President Jim Morris said that the film would be mostly set at the California Marine Biology Institute, a large complex of sea life rehabilitation and aquarium and the place where Dory had been born and raised. Morris added that fans would get to meet new characters like sea lions, octopus, and a beluga whale, among others.
The film stars the voices of Idris Elba, Dominic West, Eugene Levy, Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Ty Burrell, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson, and Ellen DeGeneres as Dory. DeGeneres debuted the trailer on Ellentube, as per Variety.
With Stanton and MacLane in charge of helming the film, "New Best Friend" and "Apostles of Infinite Love" writer Victoria Strouse is also on board to pen the film screenplay. Lindsey Collins, John Lasseter, and Bob Roath are set to co-produce the film while Thomas Newman is in charge of scoring.
Stanton and MacLane's "Finding Dory" is slated to splash and premiere in theaters in the United States on June 17, 2016.
