Undefeated team South Korea (4-0-0, 12 points) is set to face lowly squad Myanmar (1-3-1, 4 points) at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in Suwon, South Korea on November 12th, Thursday for a second round match of the AFC 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Taegeuk Warriors defeated the White Angels, 2-0, in their first meeting at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok last June 16. Myanmar is currently playing its home games in Thailand because of a FIFA sanction brought by a crowd violence incident during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers' preliminary round.
South Korea is coming off a close 1-0 nipping of Kuwait at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium in Kuwait City last October 8th, as reported by the Korea Times.
Midfielder Koo Ja-cheol scored the lone goal of the match right at the 12th minute and the Koreans never relinquished it until time expired.
Myanmar's last game in the tourney is a 3-1 win over bottom-dweller Laos at the Suphachalasai Stadium in Bangkok last October 13th, as per the Myanmar Times.
Laotian striker Khampheng Sayavutthi opened the scoring at the second minute of the game, but Myanmar's midfielder Suan Lam Mang, striker Kyaw Ko Ko, and forward Aung Thu each found the back of the net at the 13th, 32nd, and 50th on the way to the lopsided victory.
Uli Stielike's Reds are in form to again top Gerd Zeise's Angels especially now that the Koreans will be playing at their home stadium.
The predicted result is another 2-0 win for South Korea.
