The first official trailer for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2" has finally been released to the public. The movie is a direct sequel to the 2002 hit film, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."
The trailer was released on Wednesday via the NBC's "Today Show." As expected, the film looks hilarious just from the small amount of things shown. We understand that Nia Vardalos and John Corbett reprise their roles as Toula and Gus respectively in the movie, a move that should get fans excited.
Both characters are married with a teenage daughter, so whose marriage is this movie about? Well, as it stands, Toula's parents were never married, so as expected, they are the ones who are gearing up to tie the knot in a "Big Fat Green Wedding."
Interestingly enough, the movie trailer shows us how to get an instant facelift without ever having to do surgery. That was one of the funnier scenes, and from there, it was clear this movie will have moviegoers laughing and having a good time.
We also enjoyed the scene with Toula and Gus in the car, and then moments into the action, her father appeared at the window.
Why did the sequel took so long?
Nia Vardalos stated to E Online that it was her fault because she could not write a screenplay that she could not resonate with. As soon as she became a mother, it was apparent that this was the right time to pen the screenplay for "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2."
The movie is set to hit theaters come March 25, 2016. That's the same day "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" launches into theaters around the world.
