"X-Men: Apocalypse" may have some surprises in store-that is, if this does not spoil them.
It seemed inevitable that Hugh Jackman will not appear in an "X-Men" movie especially since he has appeared in every one of them.
The Wolverine appearance in "X-Men: First Class" was quite a surprise and Fox was able to keep it under wraps. Thus, the sleuthing had to be more creative to determine whether Logan will show up in "Apocalypse" whether it's a cameo, post-credit or actually be in the movie.
First clue was apparel company Kika NY who proclaimed on their Instagram account (since deleted) that "We were just asked to make a special duffle backpack for Hugh Jackman who is filming the new X-Men movie in Montreal."(h/t Comic Book)
Another clue is the reshoots. Local paper Le Journal de Montreal reported "it seems that Hugh Jackman will be on hand" for the reshoots. (h/t again to Comic Book for the translation).
On the other hand, there are also rumors that Gambit, played by Channing Tatum will also make his first onscreen appearance. What Culture covers this one.
"It's also rumored that Channing Tatum will turn up as Gambit in a bid to kick-start the character's new onscreen career ahead of his solo film next October, although who knows what capacity he may appear. A post-credit sting might be the least obtrusive way to get him in on the action without affecting the plot or flow of the film."
It would not be a wild stretch of the imagination to assume that more mutants will appear in "Apocalypse" as Simon Kinberg already hinted that the film will have "catastrophic" implications. There might be more characters hinted or alluded to in the film as Fox wants to build a new universe for the new generation of X-Men.
