Chinese stars Yang Mi and Peter Chan received awards during the second Chinese International Film Festival held in London over the weekend.
During the festival held on Saturday, about 20 awards were distributed to some of China's finest actors, actresses and filmmakers.
Among the awardees were Chinese actress, singer and film festival goodwill ambassador Yang Mi, who was given the Best Overseas Influence award.
"The film festival is a very good opportunity for people from the Chinese film industry to promote and present their works to an overseas audience. I hope there will more occasions like this, and I would be very happy to get involved," she stated.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong-born producer and director Peter Chan, who was also a co-founder of the United Filmmakers Organization (UFO), was given two awards for his movie entitled "Dearest."
The film festival began during the same period last year in an attempt to promote the Chinese film industry and culture among the British audience.
Aside from the awarding ceremony, the 2014 Chinese International Film Festival also showcased a film industry forum about Sino-British cooperation in film production.
Other stars that graced the event include Hong Kong actor Nick Cheung, who won Best Lead Role for his performance in Dante Lam's film "Unbeatable."
Cheung noted the collaboration between the film industries of the two nations as a welcome opportunity to help enhance film production in both countries.
"I wish it could be a mainstream phenomenon, as it will help people from both countries better understand each other," he added.
