Manny Pacquiao wants a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. before he officially retires. The Filipino boxer insisted that he wanted his next fight to be with the unbeaten champion even if the latter already hung up his gloves in September.
In an interview with CNN over the weekend, Pacquiao believed that having a rematch is definitely possible. He added that he is more than willing to face him in the ring again, if and when, he accepts.
Although Mayweather made it clear on multiple occasions that he is done with boxing, Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach speculated that anything is possible. He added that the fight will definitely bring in more money, probably even result to a bigger fight than what they had in May. He said that both camps would not throw an opportunity like that away.
Meanwhile, speaking to FightHype.com, via Inquirer, Mayweather claimed that Pacquiao's camp pushing for a rematch was done in bad taste. He said that they were just "piggybacking" on his name to sell pay-per-view numbers.
Mayweather won was said to be the biggest fight in history with a unanimous decision. Although fans of Pacquiao may argue that their idol had a shoulder injury, Mayweather believed that he won the fight fair and square. He added that he is not at all bothered by fans who claim that he was too calculated, which resulted to a "boring" fight.
"I'm boring enough to do the biggest and the best numbers in pay-per-view history. It's all b------t," he said.
