The latest "Longmire" season 5 rumors suggest that the Netflix series will premiere on September 2016. After the renewal has been confirmed, fans immediately went online in the hopes of finding spoilers for the coming episodes.
According to Christian Today, season 4 aired on Sept. 10 this year. If the show will follow a similar trend, it would not be a stretch to speculate that the new episode will drop by September next year as well. Although details remain scarce, the producers promised fans that the cliffhanger in the season 4 finale will be answered in the premiere.
As reported by Venture Capital Post, showrunners Greer Shephard and John Coveny cannot help but express their gratitude to Netflix for the series' renewal. When A&E cancelled "Longmire" after only three seasons, fans started multiple online petition for other networks to save the show. Thankfully, the big bosses at Netflix answered their prayers.
Shephard said that they are lucky to be working with people who values viewers over demographic. In a press release by A&E, the network explained that the reason why they decided to cancel the show, in spite of its huge following, is because they had a hard time selling its premise to the advertisers. They claimed that the show's target demographic was not what the advertisers were after.
Coveny added that they are really happy to be under Netflix. He said that the streaming service had gambled so much on the show and they are beyond thankful.
"Netflix said, 'We want human beings to watch this show - if it has heart and soul to it, we need that piece in the Netflix family.'"
