The Google Hangout app's latest refurbishing of the chat-video-talk app is reportedly the most innovative. Some of the highlighted features include sharper video calls, streamlined user interface, and a more engaging full screen display.
While there is a plethora of apps like WhatsApp, Viber, and Line, Google has made an effort to maintain high standards for the Hangouts app.
Some of the enhancements include no waiting time for receiving calls, fewer screen distractions, and a minimalist full screen with better interface, Tech News Today reports.
Crisp and high quality videos are signs that Google wants Hangouts to remain a top contender in the chat/talk/video app category. While many of the apps in this product segment are slow, Google's Hangouts are reasonably faster, particularly after the latest update.
The new Google Hangout app experience was introduced by Eduardo Fernandez, the search engine firm's software engineer.
However, Slash Gear pointed out that all the improvements on Hangouts will not make a difference if users find the user interface difficult to navigate. This time around, the latest version of Google Hangouts ensures that it meets the standards of comparable chat applications like WhatsApp.
The California-based search engine firm will be making Google Hangouts available to more app testers after an in-house test at Google. The Google Hangout app will be released to a small group of people now, before a wide-scale release is launched world-wide.
For a limited amount of time, Google will make its older version available to users who want to stick with its familiarity. This can be selected by clicking on "origninal version" in the Hangouts menu.
