Mark Hamill will be joining the cast of CW's comic adaptation of "The Flash" as James Jesse, also known as the Trickster, one of the villains.
The American actor also played the iconic role of Luke Skywalker in the "Star Wars" series in 1977. In addition, he already played the role of the Trickster in two episodes of the short-lived "The Flash" series by CBS in 1990, along with John Wesley Shipp, who now plays as Barry Allen's father in CW's hit television show.
"Having Mark reprise his role as The Trickster was on our original wish list when we were planning our version of The Flash," said Andrew Kreisberg, the executive producer of the ongoing "Flash" television series.
Kreisberg adds that their team is excited to have Hamill in the show "for another round of deadly trickery."
Hamill will be the third returning actor from the original Flash series from CBS. Amanda Pays will also be reprising her role as Dr. Tina McGee in CW's Flash series. Pays will be featured on the show's midseason finale episode "The Man in the Yellow Suit."
However, fans will have to wait a bit more as Hamill will only be returning as the Trickster in the 17th episode of the show's current season in 2015.
Hamill will also reprise another role in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" as Luke Skywalker in Dec. 2015 with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Peter Mayhew, Daisy Ridley, Kenny Baker, Warwick Davis and Max von Sydow among others.
Also part of the cast is Lupita Nyong'o, who won Best Performance by an Actress during the 2014 Academy Awards for his performance in the 2013 film adaptation of the novel "12 Years a Slave."
