New "Transformers 5" details will feature a standalone storyline and a possible "Beast Wars" spin-off in the works after the fifth instalment.
Film writer Akiva Goldsman has revealed several new details for "Transformers 5," as well as future plans for the film franchise. According to Goldsman, "Transformers 5" could have a standalone storyline, but it will still be interconnected with the past films. Goldsman's plan to have an episodic style treatment for "Transformers 5" is similar as to how Marvel Studios treat its film from focusing on individual characters such as Iron Man, Thor and Captain America leading up to a bigger film such as "The Avengers," Moviepilot reported.
Recent reports claimed that "Transformers 5" will be divided into two parts as part 1 will be focusing in Cade Yaeger (Mark Wahlberg) and remaining Autobots on earth, while part 2 will focus on Optimus Prime meeting his creator in space, which are rumored to be the Quintessons.
Aside from "Transformer 5's" standalone style treatment, there is also plans for an animated prequel in the "Transformers" film franchise. Goldsman stated that it will explore the history of Cybertron during the great civil war between the Autobots and the Decepticons before they even landed into planet earth.
In other news, several rumors are making rounds that a "Beast Wars" spin-off could be in the works after "Transformers 5."
Goldsman stated that he and the rest of the film production will be working on different storylines for the "Transformers" franchise garnering inspiration from comics, novels and even the current toyline. The first of these possible storylines could be the "Prime Wars Trilogy" since they wanted "Transformers 5" to be the gateway to new plot details and ideas for future sequels, Movie News Guide reported.
With that in mind, Goldsman teased fans that "Beast Wars" could be added to these new storyline and ideas as he explained that if one writer discovers an affinity for the series, they can drive forward on treatments that will have been fleshed out in the room.
If that happens, then fans will get to see the Maximals and the Predacons in the big screen soon.
"Transformers 5" movie is scheduled to be release in cinemas on 2017.
