New details for "Red Dead Redemption 2" will feature multiplayer gameplay, a huge map based on the United States and possible launch date next year.
Take-Two Interactive president Karl Slatoff announced that they will be working on "unannounced" game projects this year, which includes several established game franchises. One of these "unannounced" is the rumored "Red Dead Redemption 2" video game and it is hinted that Rockstar Games has been working on the sequel for quite sometime now, The Christian Post reported.
The first "Red Dead Redemption" was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms and it has been six years since gaming fans experienced the game's rich content and Wild West style gameplay. Other reports claim that title for the sequel could be named "Red Dead Revolution" and will feature a huge map that is based on the whole map of the United States.
Rockstar Games will be using nine different states within "Red Dead Redemption 2" such as Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Dakota, the Rock Mountains and Mexico, Realty Today reported. Rockstar added that they are currently looking for a network programmer that specializes on open world game mechanics .
"Red Dead Redemption 2" will also feature multiplayer co-op style gameplay that ranges from four to eight players and has a "Gang System" which lets players recruit AI units to join him/her similar to the "Grand Theft Auto" video game franchise.
The rumored plot of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will take place twelve years before the original game and two playable characters have been revealed; Seth and Irish.
Rockstar Games CEO Strauss Zenick stated last year that they going to make "Red Dead Redemption" into a permanent game franchise, but fears that gamers will lose interest in it as they wanted something "better not more".
Although there is still no official announcement, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is speculated to launch sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
