Amazon has started its own big discount deals to start the holiday shopping season in the United States, and its Countdown to Black Friday event is currently in full swing.
The online retailer is offering 30,000 lightning deals and the sales event runs until Nov. 26. The new company strategy is to offer good buys throughout the holiday season and it means more discounts for its customers.
Amazon’s discounts range from devices from the Fire TV to the Kindle eBook. The company is hoping to use the holiday to expand its footprint in the electronics space. The company is building out a portfolio of devices, hoping to attract users to its stores as more things go digital.
Kindle will be discounted at just $49.99 starting Nov. 22. Fire TV Stick, the smaller of Amazon's smart TV solutions will be on sale for $24.99 beginning Nov. 26. Fire TV Stick plugs into the TV's HDMI port and offers access to a wide range of streaming services and apps such as Instant Video service, plus NBC, Sling TV, Disney, HGTV. Showtime and HBO Go.
Its own product Fire tablet will be sold at $34.99. Inside every Amazon Fire Tablet is 8GB of storage with the option to add more. It also includes a $10,00 in apps and games with the Fire Tablet with 7-inch Display, according to USA Today.
Amazon Prime members get an extra perk of 30-minute head start on bargains in front of other shoppers. They also get free two-day shipping, and also a free one-day delivery for orders over $35. Orders less than $35 are charged a flat rate of $5.99 for Prime members and start at $9.99 for non-Prime members, Investor Place reported.
The Amazon Black Friday deals and savings starts on Sunday, Nov. 22, the Sunday before Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
