Xiaomi Inc. claims that it took the lead position in the online sales performance of smartphone gadgets during the Singles' Day on three major e-commerce platforms: Tmall.com, JD.com and Suning.com.
According to a company statement, the firm's flagship store in Alibaba's Tmall.com garnered over 1.2 billion yuan worth of sales by the end of Wednesday.
The Beijing-based firm did not disclose further details.
Xiaomi PR representative Li lei told the Global Times that Tmall.com might be "auditing the specific data" at the time of the interview.
Moreover, the statement said that it sold a total of 715,486 smartphones on JD.com, making it the number one smartphone maker on the site.
The same statement also noted that Xiaomi's Redmi Note 2 was the most popular product of the firm during the Singles' Day event.
Earlier during the occasion, Xiaomi has unveiled its new smartphone gadget via the local crowdfunding portal izhongchou.taobao.com. By Wednesday midnight, the product had already attracted a public investment of more than 36 million.
Currently, Xiaomi ranks as the top domestic smartphone firm in the Chinese market, with a share of 16.4 percent. The data came from an October report released by global research firm HIS Technology.
Meanwhile, the company also posted impressive sales on its other products. By the end of Singles' Day, Xiaomi was able to sell 66,000 television units.
The statement from Xiaomi also contained CEO Lei Jun's remark, saying that he will continue to strive harder to narrow the gap between his firm and leading global smartphone makers.
