As they try to live ordinary lives and at the same time try to understand what the connection means, how and why it happened, a man with good will, Jonas (Andrews), who is also a Sensate helps them. He tries to protect them from an evil man "Whispers" (Mann), another Sensate with similar abilities who is after them and who hunts them down by tapping into their physic connection.
The story continues, unlocking more secrets and unusual turn of events until Season one ends, leaving the audience with a cliffhanger and much suspense. According to speculations, "Sense8" Season 2 could be focused on love and its implications on the cluster.
