Newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross are expecting their first child together as the couple recently confirmed the baby news to the press.
Following their wedding on Aug. 31, Ross shared that he and his new wife are "working on" building a family together. With this latest update on their life as newlyweds, it appears that the son of the highly acclaimed artist Diana Ross and the sister of famous singer Jessica Simpson have succeeded in their goal.
Their wedding, which was celebrated in the home of the Motown star herself, had been an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family. Jessica stood as the matron of honor for her 30-year-old sister, while Diana officiated the wedding.
"I would like [having kids]," a giddy and smitten Ross once shared with the press.
"As many as possible," he added in an interview during the "Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 1" premiere in Los Angeles.
Apart from sharing their plans to start building a family together, Ross also gushed about his new wife. "I've been with her [Ashlee] now for a while so it just feels right," the actor and singer revealed.
"I'm happy to say she's my wife," he said.
The couple first publicly acknowledged their relationship during the summer of 2013. The 26-year-old soon proposed to Simpson in January. It was reported that he popped the question while the couple was vacationing in Hawaii. Eight months following their engagement, Ross and Simpson officially said 'I do'.
This newest addition to the family will soon be joining Simpson's six-year-old son, Bronx Mowgli, whom she had with her first husband, Fall Out Boy band member Pete Wentz.
