Adele was unrecognizable when she appeared on "The Graham Norton Show" recently. Wearing a fake nose and a fake chin, the Grammy Award winner and "Hello" hitmaker confused BBC host Graham Norton.
With her new look, Adele played the role of a nanny named Jenny. Her task was to imitate how nannies talk, behave and carry out themselves, which she pulled off very well. Moreover, she had to compete with her impersonators who were also invited to the Wimbledon Theatre to audition for Norton's show.
Before joining the impersonators onstage, the real Adele had a chit chat with some of her competitors of the night without them having an idea that they were talking to the real Adele whom they were about to impersonate.
Adele's interaction with her impersonators backstage made her realize that some have been doing impersonation job as a fulltime work whereas some has been in for just five days. In her case, she told the impersonators that she started four years ago.
As Jenny, Adele was so real and natural that not even the experienced impersonators noticed that she was the real "Hello" hitmaker. At one point, she acted as if she was freaking out and very nervous to perform. She also intentionally missed her mark when she started singing.
"I thought she was strange and strange looking, but I didn't want to judge her," one of the Adele impersonators named Stacey Lee Richards said of the real Adele and her character Jenny. "I just thought she was a weirdo. I didn't realize it was her until the second verse as I didn't think anything like that would ever happen to me and I didn't believe it for two days afterwards."
