"Street Fighter" may have seen the return of a familiar face in Dhalsim, but it appears that this is not the last character to be included in the game. A new round of characters will be coming to the game once it reaches audiences in 2016.
Capcom's Yoshinori Ono stated that they will be adding more characters following the launch. There are already speculations as to who these characters are, as familiar names like Guile, Ibuki, Juri, Balrog, Urien and Alex have started to surface, Shoryuken reported.
The new characters were first hinted after data miners spotted the names and audio files of the additional characters. The existence of the files did prompt some fans to wonder if the characters are already done and were just not included in the release. To this, Ono responded, stating that the character are actually still under development.
"What we're working towards internally is about one character every two months. So we've been able to map out that we're going to have six within the first year and plan to continue to build after that," said Ono as quoted by Shoryuken.
For now, Capcom has announced a new bundle for "Street Fighter V" that is fit for hardcore fans of the franchise. Players can get the collector's edition of "Street Fighter V" and a limited edition Mad Catz Chun-Li TE 2 stick. It will also feature a digital code for three months' worth of PlayStation Plus for free, Capcom-Unity Blog confirmed.
Fans should take advantage of the offer, as the developer also confirmed that there will only be 400 units of the limited edition "Street Fighter V" console rolled out.
"Street Fighter V" is set to release on Feb. 16, 2016. It will come to the PS4 and PC platforms, with cross-play also set as a feature.
