People using the Google Nexus 6P smartphone have recently complained about the onboard microphone of the phablet that also does not support the wireless charging feature.
Before the issue with the microphone, Nexus 6P users complained about the glass of the rear camera easily breaks.
Based from Google forums to discussions over at XDA Developers, people are experiencing a subpar and muffled sound quality whenever they make calls, according to Forbes.
Meanwhile, some people have noted that simply covering the microphone can solve the dilemma. However, other users of the Google phablet warned that actually covering the rear-mounted microphone could cause the issue itself.
In addition, there are several microphones on smartphones used to get rid of ambient noise, and the same applies for the Google Nexus 6P. A likely cause to the disappointing sound quality could be mismanaged software that renders the phablet to behave improperly.
According to a XDA Developers forum, one user believes that a software bug has been causing the microphone problem for some people. Once Google sends an update, the issue would be immediately remedied.
On the other hand, a hardware problem would lead to Google having to a vast amount of Nexus 6P phablets and dampen the company's image. Moreover, Huawei, which was assigned to build the devices, could be rightly criticized by Google.
The tech giant has been investigating the microphone problem as Google staff has finally responded to queries on the forums. The Nexus 6P has so far been receiving positive reviews and has only gotten a few negative remarks, according to Tech Radar.
Furthermore, some people were dismayed at the fact that the newest Google phablet is not capable of supporting wireless charging.
The handy feature could have boosted the image of the device, especially since some critics have already looked down upon the large rear camera and the inability of the Nexus 6P to have optical image stabilization.
The Google Nexus 6P phablet was released on Sept. 29, and could be bought for as low as $499 for the 32GB version and $549 for the 64GB model.
