After rumors circulated the internet over a prospected Pepsi smartphone, Pepsi just solidified the rumor by unveiling the phone, dubbed Pepsi P1.
As reports confirm, the Soda maker licensed its brand to Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co. Ltd to undertake the task of developing the very first smartphone exhibiting the iconic Pepsi logo.
The Pepsi Phone P1, to mention it by its full name, will launch in China at a price of US $110 (770 Yuan) based on JD Finance, which acts as China's version of Kickstarter.
Looking at the phablet's specs, it will include a 5.5 inch 1080p Full HD 2.5D Curved Screen display and will be powered by a 1.7 GHZ Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor enhanced by a Mali 450-MP4 GPU, Silicon Angle reported.
The phone's camera will include a LED flash and a competitive resolution of 13 MP. What is more, there will also be a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies.
Along with these specs, the Pepsi Phone P1 will come with 2 GB of RAM and a whopping 16 GB of internal memory. The phone will also include a hybrid dual SIM with a second slot being a multipurpose one as it will also be able to take in a micro SD card.
According to Computer World, the P1 will run a Dido OS 6.1, which is an operating system rooted on the Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Available in Gold, Blue and Silver, the P1 will also ship with a rear fingerprint scanner which could mean that in future, the phone will eventually support Google pay and security scans for the phone itself.
Along with these are more details that makes the phone a competitive element in the smartphone market and more special because of getting sponsored by Pepsi.
