The Canadian pop star and "Hello Kitty" singer Avril Lavigne has finally set the record straight. She has slammed all the rumors that she is in rehab through the popular social networking and micro-blogging site Twitter.
Lavigne said she is not suffering from any kind of addiction problems at all. She even laughed at the rumors and said that they were really funny.
The rumors mills started abuzz with her addiction woes after a screen shot of her Twitter conversation with a fan was shared online in which he asked her why she had not come out with a new album. The fan asks her whether she is working on a new album or not, as they have not heard anything new from her for almost a couple of years. In response to this query, she said that she also feels sorry for her fans as she cannot reveal the exact reason she has been absent from the music scene. The 30-year-old singer did say that she has had some medical concerns hence she isn't sitting in the studio working on her new album.
This stark revelation sparked off the rumors that she is addicted to some substance and is in rehab, trying to shake it off. However in her tweet on Twitter, she set the record straight and said that she isn't in rehab at all and in the Christmas season, the only thing that she is addicted to are the Christmas songs by Bing Crosby.
In other news, there have been numerous rumors circling Lavigne's marriage to the Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. However, the singer slammed all the rumors that their marriage was on the rocks.
