Domino's has launched Easy Order buttons, which allow hungry customers to get a piping-hot pizza with tangy tomato sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, and all their favorite meat and vegetable toppings, at the push of a button. In fact, no smartphone apps or telephone calls are required to get a large pepperoni pizza delivered to a house's, apartment's or office's doorstep, building on the company's other ordering options including tweeting a pizza emoji and ordering from a smart television.
The process is simple. People program a magnetic physical button with their favorite pizza, such as pepperoni, mushrooms, Italian sausage, bell peppers, or double anchovy; address; and payment information. After pressing the small button it uses Bluetooth to sync with a smartphone loaded with Domino's app, according to PC Mag.
The first releases of the Easy Order buttons will take place in December through a social media contest, and the second ones in February 2016, according to Engadget. However, they are not for sale now.
Over half of Domino's customers already use their mobile apps to order their pizza pies. In fact, smartphone owners can use a virtual button in the Domino's app that functions like the physical button.
Domino's Easy Order button is only available in the United Kingdom. However, it will likely roll out later in the United States and other countries.
Amazon has already launched one-click ordering. It allows customers to use Dash buttons for ordering a mix of items with one mouse click.
Domino's Pizza Inc. was founded in 1960 in Michigan. It is the second-biggest U.S. pizza chain (following Pizza Hut), and is the biggest chain worldwide with over 10,000 stores.
