Apple CEO Tim Cook is no longer coming to the Huntsville Southeastern Cyber Security Summit, according to an Apple spokesperson.
Judy Darwin, a Publicity Chair at Apple, said that Chief Executive Officer Cook will not be one of the speakers in the event, which is at its seventh year. According to the summit's website secybersummit.org, Tim Cook was invited to speak at the 2015 Huntsville conference.
No further details were given regarding the reason why Tim Cook will not be pushing through to speak at the 2015 Huntsville conference.
The cyber security conference, formerly known as the North Alabama Cyber Security Summit, will be held next year on June 3 and 4 at the South Hall of the Von Braun Center.
The two-day summit's 2015 theme will be "Cyber Training, Education and Workforce Development for the Evolving Threat."
People who want to avail of the early-bird rates of the Huntsville conference will have until March 6 with the rate ranging from 75 up to 100 U.S. dollars, after which, the normal pre-registration charge will increase up to 175 U.S. dollars.
Other speakers for the 2015 Huntsville conference include Admiral Mike Rogers from the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, Office of Cybersecurity and Communications assistant secretary Andy Ozment from the National Protections and Programs Directorate of the Department of Homeland Security, Tennessee Valley Authority vice president Dan Traynor and Cybersecurity and Communications chief technology officer Peter Fonash from the Department of Homeland Security.
