With less than a month since its launch, "Halo 5: Guardians" is receiving a number of updates. Developer 343 Industries has already released the first batch of the free content through the "Battle of Shadow and Light" content update.
This time, it seems that the developer has something more in store for December. The new addition was teased in the latest live stream for Halo. It appears that there is more to come to "Halo 5: Guardians" than just the Forge for December, DualShockers reported.
There may actually be even more weapons, armor and skins waiting for fans. There are no concrete details on what the December update will contain or when it will be released.
In addition, to the December update, there has also been some reports on how "Halo 5: Guardians" fared in terms of sales on the Xbox One. It has brought life to the sales of Microsoft's next-gen console, with a record of over 1.45 million units moved on the first week alone.
However, despite the support, it still comes up short in terms of the "Halo" series overall. The "Halo 5: Guardians" only came in fifth place in the overall ranking of all of the "Halo" games. It failed to surpass the likes of "Halo 3," "Halo 4" and "Halo: Reach."
The game has even reportedly failed to meet the expectations set by retailer GameStop, which should have contributed to the decrease in software sales, GameSpot reported.
This came from the earnings call from GameStop, where the executives stated that some games did not perform as well as expected. "Halo 5: Guardians" is not alone in this category, as GameStop also named "Star Wars Battlefront" and "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" as underperformers.
Despite this, there have been reports that the sales for "Halo 5: Guardians" at least may be higher than what was reported. Supposedly, the latest "Halo" title only earned somewhere along the 20 to 25 percent range for GameStop, though this will be a very far discrepancy from the $400 million sales that Microsoft has reported for "Halo 5: Guardians."
