Gamers and Nintendo fans who just want to sit, relax and play a smash out fun game on Nintendo 3DS or Wii U might want to check out the new "Super Smash Bros" launched on Oct. 3 for Nintendo 3DS and on Nov. 21 in Wii U.
"Super Smash Bros" is the fourth installment by Nintendo, a crossover fighting game that features established characters from their other video games. This is not a typical fighting game that depleting an enemy life bar is usually the key for winning. Instead, gamers have to knock out an opponent by launching them outside the arena, most often a set of suspended platforms.
Different items and power ups are also available in "Super Smash Bros". Using and understanding each item gives a player an advantage on the battlefield. The mysterious sphere that floats around the stage is called Smash Ball while the player who delivers the last hit that will break the ball will gain a powerful move called Final Smash. The Fire Bar, also an attack item, is used to deal damage to the enemy. However, the length of the weapon is reduced every time it is used.
Steel Diver, a projectile weapon in the shape of an advanced submarine hat fires small torpedoes that are hard-to-see. Other items that can be used are; Fairy Bottle, Super Leaf, Beehive, Home-Run Bat, Bullet Bill, Cucco, and the Daybreak.
The game also offers a new game play. Street Smash is needed to move your character token around and win by knocking other player tokens out of the map.
This is ultimately a family fun game which can be play with an eight-player smash as Mario, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Bowser, Toon Link, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Pikachu, and other Nintendo characters .
