The former Formula 1 champion, Michael Schumacher, is currently walking his "toughest race" in life after a fatal skiing accident at Meribel Resort in December 2013. Schumi's battle attracts empathy from both family members and former colleagues in the motorsport industry.
According to the latest report from The Bit Bag, four-time world F1 champion Sebastian Vettel told SID news agency, "It is a shame that he cannot be here with us now- it's difficult for us all. We know that he keeps fighting, we know that he's not well, so we wish him all the best."
According to Vettel's statement, the seven-time world champion is already being missed his colleagues in the motorsport industry.
"It is generally a difficult issue, but clearly I think almost everyone here knows him personally," Vettel added. "The bottom line is that he is a good friend, and a friend that we are missing here now."
Meanwhile, Sebastian recently dedicated his win in the Race of Champions at London's Olympic Stadium to Schumacher, FoxSports reported. Vettel is a close friend of Schumi, after the ex-racer recommended him to join the Ferrari team.
In other news, the former Ferrari President, Montezemolo, as well expressed how hard it is to know that Schumi is in a "terrible situation."
Montezemolo said, "He is an extraordinary person, who even in the most difficult moments was an absolute player, to see him in this situation is terrible."
The former Ferrari president added that it is a challenge since one cannot know what to do in such a situation. The only think is to recall the good moments that he had with Schumi. Montezemolo regards Schumacher as an extraordinary driver, man, and friend.
Updates on Schumi's health condition remain scanty, but Ross Brawn OBE who has been keeping in touch with Schumacher'' family believes that "there is always hope."
