According to recent "Arrow" season 4 spoilers, fan favorite superhero Roy Harper, also known as Arsenal, will be back in "Arrow" season 4 episode 12, entitled "Unchained."
"Arrow" season 4 executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TV Line that a chance for Colton Haynes' return as Harper had opened and they could not wait for the fans to see him reunite with the other characters. On Nov. 21, the executive producer tweeted a photo of the production for "Arrow" episode 412, which is season 4 episode 12 "Unchained."
Guggenheim also said that he and his team were beyond thrilled that Colton Haynes, who is playing Harper, would be returning to "Arrow" this season. Guggenheim added that it had been always their intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it had been a matter of finding the right storyline to pull it off.
Haynes himself also confirmed his character's return in "Arrow." On Nov. 21, Haynes wrote on Twitter that he had just landed in Vancouver to begin filming for "Arrow" season 4 again. The "Teen Wolf" added that he was so excited to be back in the series.
Executive producer Wendy Mericle also hinted that Harper's come back would have consequences for Thea's new relationship with Oliver's campaign advisor. Mericle also said Harper could have come back into Thea's life at some inopportune moments, which she described as an interesting dynamics to see.
In previous episodes, Haynes pretended to be The Arrow and faked his death in prison before leaving Star City. Hoping that she and Haynes would be reunited, Thea tracked him down; however, Haynes emboldened her to search her own path, leaving his Arsenal suit as a parting gift.
Meanwhile, there were rumors saying that Harper would come back and get killed to justify the a scene in "Arrow" season 4 episode 1 "Green Arrow," which saw Oliver standing over a grave, Realty Today reported.
Some rumors also said that Harper might return to aid team Green Arrow learn how Thea could overcome the bloodlust after her dip in the Lazarus Pit, which is an indication that Roy might have gone through the same experience in "Arrow" Season 2.
With Harper's return to the "Arrow" storyline, it is assumed that fans would be thrilled to see how he would affect other characters around him.
The air date for "Arrow" season 4 episode 12 "Unchained" is yet to be announced.
