According to latest reports, the Nexus 5X was spotted on online retailer eBay for $10 less than the initial price. Buyers can get the Nexus smartphone for US $369.99 with free shipping. While the listing offers the 16GB variant only, buyers can get the handset in blue, white or black colors.
Also, Amazon India is selling the 16GB variant of the Google Nexus 5X for Rs 24,476 and the 32GB variant of the smartphone for Rs 29,950.
Nexus 5X discounts are tempting, but you should think twice before buying - here is why.
According to Phones Review, Google Nexus 5X appears to have some performance and lag issues. Plain lag, throttling, camera slow-downs and encryption are 4 major areas that Nexus 5X owners complain about.
Plain Lag - The Nexus 5X smartphone appears to slow down more frequently than acceptable.
Throttling - The running speeds of the Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chip are not being maintained satisfactorily. This has been supported by testing that demonstrated the two Cortex A57 cores are lasting up to two minutes of peak speeds before being quickly throttled down. It is not known what is causing this problem, as other phones with the Snapdragon 808 SoC do not seem to be having this problem.
Camera Slow-downs - HDR+ is too computationally intensive for the handset to manage. If users try to take some photos in rapid succession, the camera app will stall for some time.
Encryption - The Nexus 5X smartphone is not strong enough for the complete software-accelerated encryption that is enabled and this affects the performance power.
