Bungie has announced that the rare item merchant in Destiny will still be in its spot in the tower until Monday night. This extended stay duration of Xur is in response to the recent cyber-attacks that hit the servers and network of PlayStation Now and Xbox Live.

The recent connectivity issue that plagued both the PlayStation Now and Xbox Live networks has made a considerable amount of Destiny gamers unable to log in their respective accounts on line. The extended stay of Xur is Bungie's way of making up for the lost time that the gamers were unable to play due to technical network problems.

According to Bungie's official statement, the exotic merchant will still be in its spot in the tower until Monday night and will continue to follow its regular schedule every week. Xur is a valuable merchant in the world of Destiny since it gives players the change to purchase high end items like exotic weapons and other armaments.

In recent weeks, the PlayStation Now and Xbox Live servers experienced unrelenting attacks from the hacker group The Lizard Group. The hack has crashed both their server early on Dec. 24, a problem that has caused massive backlash on both the companies.

Customers who had their consoles as gift for the holidays were unable to use it until the servers are working properly. At the same time, a sizeable portion of current users were unable to access their accounts as well making them unable to play their games during the holidays.

Microsoft has restored its service on Friday and has already issued apologies to affected customers. The Sony PlayStation Now network is already back online but some users are still experiencing problems especially in logging into their accounts.

Some users complain that even if they can log in, the game services are very slow. Sony has already released official statements regarding the status of their repair and has promised to fix the issue in the soonest possible time.
