Brittany Murphy and De'Angelo Wilson are two of Eminem's co-stars in the 2002 film "8 Mile," who have passed away. Murphy was born on Nov. 10, 1977 and died on Dec. 20, 2009 while Wilson was born on March 29, 1979 and died on Nov. 26, 2008.
Directed by Curtis Hanson, "8 Mile" starred Murphy as Alex Latorno, the love interest of Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr. (Eminem) and Wilson as DJ IZ, B-Rabbit's friend. The screenplay was written by Scott Silver.
Released in 2014, "Something Wicked" marked Murphy's final role before she died of pneumonia with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. The psychological thriller film was filmed in Eugene, Oregon between April and June 2009.
Recently, Megan Phelps-Roper revealed that she left Westboro Baptist Church, the hate-group founded by her grandfather, because of Murphy's death. She told New Yorker that she had loved the actress in "Clueless" so much that she could not celebrate her death like how other Westboro Baptist Church members do.
Born in Kent, Ohio, Wilson studied acting in Kent State University. After "8 Mile," he starred in several films including "Antwone Fisher," "The Salon," "Mercy Street" and "Falling Away" and appeared in TV series "CSI: NY" and "The Shield." He committed suicide by hanging in the back room of a Los Angeles business, according to All Hip Hop.
Aside from Eminem, Murphy and Wilson, "8 Mile" also starred Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, Evan Jones, Omar Benson Miller, Eugene Byrd, Taryn Manning, Larry Hudson, Mike Bell and Proof, among others.
