Cloud Strife as the next Super Smash Bros. 4 character expansion has been pretty much confirmed by Nintendo though the actual DLC release date remains under wraps. However, a new report is saying that the Final Fantasy 7 warrior is all set for download immediately after the Nintendo Direct December session.
Cloud instantly ready for action
According to GameRant, Smashers need only to look back when Ryu of Street Fighter joined in the Super Smash brawl back in June. The character add-on became readily available shortly after the Nintendo Direct airing at that time so it makes sense that Cloud's entry will take on the same pattern.
And what to expect of the FF7 hero as a Smasher? Teasers issued by Nintendo indicate that Cloud would simply be his Final Fantasy self, CrossMap reported. He'll bring with him outfits seen before in the Final Fantasy world and the gigantic Buster Sword in various form - the weapon rendition will match the costume that Cloud wears.
And the Midgar Arena has to be part of the mix just so that Smashers get the authentic Final Fantasy flavor coming their way.
New Smashers arriving with Cloud
GameRant remains convinced that Cloud is not alone in the same that when Ryu came in, Lucas and Roy were introduced at the same time. The report pointed to persistent rumors that Super Smash December DLC is designed by Nintendo with five slots to fill - three placeholders have been reserved for new characters and another two for the fresh stages.
Cloud, as everyone knows, secures a character slot, leaving the remaining two to mysterious additions. Will it be the Shovel Knight, as everyone had hoped for in the past months, despite the protestations already made by the Blue Knight creator - Yacht Club Games? Other solid candidates floating around are The Inklings, King K. Rool, Chrom and Lloyd, GameRant said.
New but familiar game stages
With Cloud as one of the confirmed new Smashers, Nintendo was obliged to pave the way for one sure add-on - a Final Fantasy for Smash Bros. to enjoy. This fulfills the earlier leaks that Super Smash DLC update will include at least two new stages.
The last one, GameRant said, and counts as nice addition is the Blackbelly Skatepark that Nintendo fans became familiar with The Splatoon. The stage suits well with the informal criteria set by Super Smash fans - widely popular and definitely old-school Nintendo, the report said.
As mentioned, Cloud Strife and other Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC release date details should be confirmed at the Nintendo Direct presentation this December.
