"Rap God" rapper Eminem is no longer Spotify's most streamed artist of all time. This year, the title now belongs to "Thinking Out Loud" singer Ed Sheeran.
According to the Year in Music list annually released by Spotify, the "Rap God" rapper ranked as fifth while Sheeran ranked fifth in the list of the top five male artists in the United States with Drake at number one with 1.8 billion streams and 46 million listeners followed by The Weeknd and Kanye West in 2015.
Drake, The Weeknd, West, Sheeran and Eminem are also the top five artists in the United States, which means no female artist entered the top five list. The female version of the list was dominated by Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" collaborator Rihanna.
In the United Kingdom, Sheeran had more than 59 million listeners making him in the United Kingdom alone. After Sheeran, The Weeknd ranked second as the most streamed artist in the U.K. followed by Drake, Sam Smith and West.
In other news, two Sydney women were recently killed in a car crash after travelling to Queensland to attend a concert by Sheeran. They reportedly attended the event to meet the "Thinking Out Lod" singer face to face as part of a radio competition, Seven News reported.
Aside from the women, who were killed in a collision of a truck and car on the Pacific Motorway at Eight-Mile Plains, south of Brisbane, another woman was injured and rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. She is said to be in a stable condition after the car accident.
