"Tyrant" star Jennifer Finnigan was not interested to do the recently-aired "Angel Of Christmas," but was rather convinced by her actor-director husband Jonathan Silverman to go for the role.
The revelation was made by the actress herself, who disclosed in an interview that after she returned from the shooting of "Tyrant" in Budapest, she and her husband took a break and went to Hawaii, where she received the script from Hallmark.
"I thought about saying, "No! I just need a vacation!" - but my husband said, "Oh, I'll read it for you," the 36-year-old actress told Zap2it before further adding that after reading the script, Silverman was left teary-eyed.
The actress liked the script so much that as soon as she landed from Hawaii, she left for the movie's shoot the very next day.
Finnigan further disclosed that shooting for "Angel Of Christmas" was so much different from working for "Tyrant" since the latter is a very intense show. Not only she has to live in foreign country for the shoot, but she also admitted that she finds the series' subject matter "incredibly difficult and draining."
"Angel Of Christmas" is based on the popular novel by Jane Maas. The movie also stars Jonathan Scarfe (Brady) and Holly Robinson Peete (Yvette). The movie follows Susan, played by Finnigan, a newspaper writer whose boss has given her three weeks to write a holiday story about her great grandfather and the angel he carved as a young man.
As the days until Christmas Eve, Susan finds herself being courted by two very different men as she unravels the details of a romantic triangle from her grandfather's life.
Meanwhile, like every year, Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas has already begun on Halloween with 55 straight days of round-the-clock holiday programming and more than 1,300 hours of content in store, Adweek reported.
