Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is asking his fans suggestion what name to give to his newest acquisition. No, it's not another expensive car - it's a female tiger cub from India.
The animal was a gift from the Money Team which was given to Mayweather in Russia where he recently visited. The 2-month-old tiger is an early Christmas gift from his team.
USA Today reports that Mayweather posted a photo of himself and his new pet on Instagram. The post got more than 170,000 likes and 10,000 comments. Since he is known from his nickname "Money May," the website suggests he name the tiger "Moneypenny."
Another former boxing champion, Mike Tyson, had previously bought three Bengal tigers. However, because of the high cost of maintenance, at $4,000 a month, it proved to be financially difficult for Tyson eventually, although the case could be different for Mayweather who has millions in his vault and bank accounts, notes Larrybrownsports.
Besides the furry pet that he received, media also noticed the fur coat that the former boxer wore in Russia where he conducted a training. According to Bleacher Report, the coat seems to be made from about 500 chinchillas.
A chinchilla is slightly bigger and robust than a ground squirrel but is actually crepuscular rodents native to the Andes Mountains in South America.
Russian journalist Tina Kandelaki tweeted a photo of Mayweather battling the Russian winter with his fashionable coat which the sports website thinks he got as a Cyber Monday purchase.
