Real Madrid is concerned over the frequent trips of star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo which could affect his performance. Using his £13.5-million Gulfstream G200 private jet parked at the Torrejon Air Base, Ronaldo flies three to four times a week to see a friend.
The Daily Mail identifies Ronaldo's friend as Moroccan kickboxer Badr Hari who has several photos on Instagram with the footballer in various stages of cuddles. Those photos have fueled speculations that the two are in a gay relationship.
Despite dating several supermodels, including Russian Irina Shayk, the 30-year-old Ronaldo has in the past been hounded by gay rumors since he has been photographed hugging his fellow athletes and often patting or touching them on the butt.
To further fuel the speculations, one photo showed the pair with Hari carrying Ronaldo and their poolside photo caption "Just married. Hahahaha." In another photo, Hari wrote as caption: "Having a great day with my bro @Cristiano," which could also mean theirs is a platonic relationship, consider each other like a brother and are in a bromance only.
One French TV presenter, Daniel Rojo, added to the speculations when he commented, "What I'm interested in is what players do on the pitch, and whether their side activities might have an impact on that." He specifically cited as an example Ronaldo, saying, "I'm sure flying off to Morocco three to four times a week to see a friend and cuddle with him might have an impact on his performances eventually," quotes Daily Mail.
Extra Confidencial adds that Real Madrid bosses are concerned about the effect of Ronaldo's frequent trips to Morocco on his performance, although they apparently did not touch on his alleged gay relationship with a fellow athlete.
Hari is 31 and has a young daughter. His website says that the kickboxer is interested in watches, cars and men's fashion. In the past, he has been linked to a scandal involving Estelle, the wife of football icon Ruud Gullit who left the player for Hari, although Estelle claims that Ruud was unfaithful during their 12 years marriage and he gave her away to the kickboxer.
According to the Mirror, Hari was a heavyweight world champion kickboxer who aggressive style got him in trouble in matches. He was two times disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct and also had brushes with the law in the past. Hari, also known as "Golden Boy," admits he could explode at any moment.
